[0] Welcome to hiartx.com. This site is intended as an organized and visible place for my [Anthony Peter Iannini's] thoughts on various concepts, essays, and ongoing tutorials. The topics to the upper right represent either the highest categories of topical taxonomy on this site or topics of special interest.

I created this site because I find it very enjoyable to investigate reality. After rejecting much of what I was told this place is, I wanted to know what it really is (truth) and how much we can know about it. Though there may be no end to the inquiry, the process and the pursuit are highly enjoyable to me.

On this site, I merge art and philosophy in a way that I hope is somewhat more accessible for anybody with some interest. It should be noted that, in some of my political discourse, I do use some imagery and language that is not appropriate for minors.

Many topics fall under each primary topic and topics are linked within the text of many pages. Hiartx.com is constantly being edited and expanded as time permits and due to this, many areas of the site are still unpolished and some tutorials, specifically, are ongoing.

Ultimately, if the question is, "What is the point of this website?" then my best answer would be "To explore my thoughts about reality in a way that allows me to share my creation with the world".

In terms of visitations to this site, I track a fair number of pages herein for visitor origins and the number of unique visitors per day and month. Since tracking, this site gets about 2,000 unique visitors a month or so from all around the world with concentrations in English-speaking countries. However, new HTML text translation tools have opened up the world to all websites in all languages and this is very apparent from the large number of international visitors hiartx.com receives.

I recently began adding website counters to each page to track the number of visitors to each page. The tracking does not count my IP address nor does it track every hit but instead waits thirty minutes before counting the same IP address' hit twice to avoid counting one visitor multiple times.

Currently, the focuses of this website are, in no particular order:

It should be noted that this site was designed at a horizontal resolution typical of 17" or larger screens. Using the "zoom out" feature under "View" at the top of the Firefox browser, for example, can help the aesthetic of smaller screens whereas the "zoom in" feature can help people who have vision problems and have a hard time reading the text on this site. I encourage anyone to email me concerning anything on this site.

Generally, in my commentaries throughout this page and, more generally, this website, (hiartx.com), the following color coded system is helpful:

light purple
means
Rollover, a linked word or phrase that goes to another page or part of a page. Used everywhere.
bold bright pink
means
Exceptional, only for select few best ideas, people, terms, etc. Rarely used.
bold bright blue
means
Very good, for very good ideas, people, terms, etc. Used sparingly..
bold bright green
means
Good, for good ideas, people, terms, etc. Used frequently.
bold dark yellow
means
Decent, Alright, Maybe some problems, for mediocre ideas, people, terms, etc. Used frequently.
bold light yellow
means
Important, used a lot, for important terms, dates, headings. Used all over.
bold orange
means
Not Good, for under construction, errors, bad people, bad ideas. Used Seldomly.
bold red
means
Terrible, Deplorable, used for horrible ideas, people, etc. Rarely used.

More about what this site, hiartx.com, is and how it came to be:
__________________________________________________________

[1] Hiartx.com has become a repository for my thoughts concerning various topics, essays and articles I have written, as well as a place for tutorials that I have created. More and more, the writing and graphics on this site are largely from late 2009 and early 2010.

[1.1] However, most of the essays and some written and graphical content are from the period 1998-2001. As I edit and rewrite my old writing and essays, I will remove the old dates to reflect the updated material. I have begun randomly inserting some images of my paintings in order to break up the monotony of text on some pages.

Cogito website from Tulane

[1.2] This above graphic was the original homepage for a website called "Cogito". This site was up from roughly 1998 until 2002 as a freely hosted Tulane University until the account expired. Since then, most of the content laid dormant until the fall of 2009 when much, but not all, of it was resurrected as HIARTX.COM.

[2] More than anything, this site is the product of an ongoing independent study I have undertaken and it is intended for anyone who is interested. Largely, this site is a way for me to organize, store, and share my thoughts.

[3] There are academic essays on this site, quasi-academic notes, wholly unacademic thoughts/comments, and purely artistic expressions all mixed into my attempt at simply sharing the work and thoughts I have had over the years and recently. My attempt, more and more, is to summarize and explicate ideas using a style more akin to some of Nietzsche's and Wittgenstein's numbered thoughts rather than create only formal academic essays.

[4] Also, it should be noted, that, in much of my political discourse, I use disturbing imagery and foul language. I find this wholly appropriate, though some may not. Simply don't look if you don't like it as we are all free to read at our discretion.

Sometimes I am aghast at some of the things I write concerning governments and political figures but these things must be said and said in a way that is serious and forceful. How many people does it take to stand up to tyranny, lies, and murder? I do not know, but one is more than none and there are, from what I have seen, legions of dissenters and anti-propagandists in this world and I am happy to join them.

[5] My attempt, on the pages of this website, is to condense and summarize, in the shortest and simplest way, my thoughts concerning everything. Academics seems, to me, to often require long-winded and obscure methods of explaining what can often be summarized in minute percentages of what is often published or found in philosophical works.

Being paid by the word or impressing peers with complexity are not my goals, though, in some of my academic essays, this is an evident feature because, in scholarly circles, it is both required and seen as a sign of aptitude. Rather, I think it is a waste of time and space for whatever can be said simply is more honest and imparting than nearly infinite diatribes about topics.

[5.1] This is not to say that a philosophical work can not be 10,000 pages long but that, often, what takes such lengthy writing can be summarized in a few paragraphs and impart the same or better meaning therein. Perhaps, in much continental philosophy, there is something important in being lost in the meandering mazes of thought and this is important, but, it often happens that what is being conveyed is rather muddied or completely buried in unbelievably extensive works that never seem to get to any particular point; and, perhaps, that is the point.

But, I prefer my philosophy simple and direct instead of winding and concealed. This is, perhaps, the main reason for my dislike of Heidegger and much of continental or deconstructionist philosophy- not that there is nothing important to be gained from it.

[6] This site is dynamic and I am always editing, improving, and expanding it. By dynamic, I mean that nothing I have written on this site or created graphically on this site is necessarily the best I am capable of creating. There will inevitably be errors of fact, reason, spelling, or grammar throughout this site and I will work to remove them at every opportunity.

[7] The topics on this site are organized through a taxonomy or system of primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary topics. Topics are divided into those sub topics that will adequately divide the material on this site rather than be strictly independent of each other. I could have, for example, begun with only philosophy as a primary topic and not aesthetics, philosophers, and metaphysics also. However, because so much content is intended for these three sub-disciplines of philosophy, I have made them primary in my organizational scheme.

[7.1] For a clear picture of this taxonomy, visit the site map. For an alphabetical and exhaustive list of the pages on this site, visit the site index.

[8] I encourage anyone to email me about anything pertaining to this site. I think every idea is capable of being challeneged and nothing I have written here is any different. I am happy to change my position on anything if I am presented with evidence or reason.

[9] All essays, writing, and graphics on this site may be freely used in non-profit educational forms but I simply ask that my name "Anthony Peter Iannini" be present as well as, if internet-based and appropriate, a link back to the relevant page. For other uses of any work on this site, such as for-profit publishing or for-profit websites, I ask that you contact me and I will decide on a case by case basis.

[10] I am happy to add relevant hyperlinks to the left column of any topic page, provided a reciprocal link is placed on the page I am linking to.

[11] Also, some of the formatting on this website, in terms of textual paragraphs, is intentionally divided to provide a more comfortable aesthetic than proper paragraph form. The black background and white text can be visually overwhelming if not chopped up regularly.

[11.1] I include manually inserted hyperlinks in purple in order to link to words that are, themselves, topical pages. I try to only link words once on each page, starting at the beginning of each topic. This manual process is sloppy at best and does not always include every topical word mentioned on every page. Often, the links are heaviest at the beginning of a page and I continue to add links as time permits.

I attempt, for reference and order, to number each paragraph or line based on a manual conceptual grouping as can be seen on this page. My numbering is an ongoing process and not every page reflects this but it is my goal to number each section for clarity and reference.

[12] In terms of my education, I have a Bachelor's degree in philosophy and a Bachelor's degree in cognitive studies (Cognitive studies is an interdisciplinary degree consisting of a neuroscience, computer science, and philosophy of mind) from Tulane University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned an award for best graduating thesis in philosophy in 2001, which is here.

I have a minor in computer science, mostly concentrating on C++ and Object-Oriented language, and a minor in psychology. I have been independently studying science, specifically astrophysics and computers, since I was about nine years old. Since university, I have been painting, reading philosophy, and writing philosophy and fiction.

[12.1] I have met a lot of people who are brilliant and who have degrees. I have met some people who couldn't do school and who are brilliant as well. It is unfortunate that there is animosity between scholars with degrees and more independent scholars without degrees. Sometimes thinking outside a certain paradigm will cause an individual to be banished from academics or not allow them to get started in the first place. This is an ongoing struggle and both academics and non-academics can learn a lot from their counterparts in terms of conceptual development around a particular field.

[12.2] This chasm between those who have earned a degree and those who have not shows more about human social tendencies than true seekers of knowledge and wisdom. Outsiders are often wrong and insiders are often lacking creativity. But, it is usually a quasi-academic independent thinking individual that shakes things up. All too often, he or she is laughed at before time tests the value of their thought.

[12.3] This can be seen very clearly in the case of thinkers who believe that intelligent life has visited or influenced earthlings in the past and/or present. It is anathema to modern academics to think that human existence has been the result of intelligent manipulation but the possibility is very real.

Evidence, such as implants, biological parts, and radiological remains, even when presented, is dismissed outright. This is not science but institutional ego. The universe is vast and the possibilities for life are near infinite. Perhaps it is this very human psychological disposition that keeps us warring and apart from the rest of intelligent life in the universe.

[12.4] Stephen Hawking has recently said that alien contact would not go well for us humans. If they wanted to take our stuff or our planet in total, it wouldn't be too hard I would imagine. So, we must remember that we are always in the cosmic food chain. But, I would guess that most of the life forms who could do hyperspace and interstellar travel would have developed an ethical philosophy of some sort. Obviously, as a species, we are lacking in treating each other with respect.

Some thoughts about freedom of speech and the political situation in early 21st century America:
______________________________________________________________________________________

When the U.S. Government begins infiltrating 9-11 truth websites, they will have proved our point and 911 truthers will be vindicated. They can't even stand to see clear evidence, truth, and physics because science shows us that the World Trade Centers were most certainly demolished intentionally.

I never thought I would write with such vitriol and anger about my own government, but I also never thought America would sink so low as to be a murderous, torturing, unjust tyrannical war machine as it did on 9-11 and since. Maybe it always was and I just noticed that we haven't changed, but only gotten worse, in the last decade. Maybe it's the disappointment in Obama who has actually made things worse, if you can believe it, than Bush. Well, the Neocons are on the march, so my tone has taken a sunken down low level of vitriol that I think wholly appropriate given the circumstances.

Now the Zionists and Neocons, like Senator Joseph Lieberman, want to quell dissent on the internet with new legislation? We'll notice that, won't we? And it will prove us all absolutely correct. "First Amendment? We can't have that, now can we? Same for the second, and, well, all the rest too.". And for all the moron white supremacisits out there, please do not confuse "Zionist" with "peaceful person of Jewish descent". I hate racism- it is so ignorant. Let me add that the Jewish people are some of the most intelligent and compassionate people on Earth.

This does not negate the point that some have gone bad as some from all nationalitiies and races have gone bad. It is not anti-semetic to point these things out as it is not anti-Italian to criticize Berlusconi or anti-Russian to criticize Putin. I speak more of governments than of the people they use and manipulate into nationalistic sickness.

The real terrorists wear suits and ties and walk the halls of government. And, for anyone who wants to say I'm right-wing, I am an agnostic about god, I believe in conservative, regulated-market, socialism, I am staunchly pro-choice, pro-gun right, pro-free speech and I am a social libertarian. Basically, I am not represented well in any "ism" or party that currently exists. Perhaps we need a truth party or a peace party.

I believe that truth, and the writing of it, is more powerful than any weapon imaginable. Death and pain are nothing to fear. Living badly, wrongly, or unjustly are the things that scare me.

Ultimately, peace is best, always. Peace be upon the whole world and all its places and peoples. Deus, Amare, Veritas (God, Love, Truth).

America can be a great, peaceful, just, honorable nation of hard-working, intelligent, pious, good, people. But, we must clean our house of war criminals, traitors (Cheney) and those who have done evil, murderous deeds domestically and abroad (Bushes, etc.). Just and honorable nations do not torture, lie, steal, murder, and conquer recklessly. Just nations help rather than hurt. Just nations never torture a soul.

Just nations do not run on secrecy and theft of the common citizen's savings and salary. America is infected with foreign agents, spies, and interests. The military-industrial complex Eisenhower warned of (Eisenhower speech video link here) is out of control. The prison-law enforcement and drug war complex is out of control (video of Jospeph McNemara's comments link here).

God Bless America but, also, God bless all people of all the world and all nations and all existence and good will towards all human kind. Why be greedy with God's blessings? No need to make a religion out of infinite creativity. I think all paths that are peaceful and tolerant are worthy of study and acceptance but all paths that harm, injure, judge harshly, lead to violence, are not true or correct.
