This is a fairly whimsical piece that many people find cute and friendly. This is meant to be a utopian image of a surreal future in which form and robotics have completely embraced love.
I imagined that the bird's wings were damaged and that love robots, a possible type of future intelligent machine, could float around and heal the bird. These small, floating balls are highly intelligent and have concern for all life.
They exist to help and repair living tissue. The warm colors and flowing paint suggest an easy, soft, enveloping emotional space that is all designed for happiness and comfort.
This is a piece that highlights the happy and bright possibilities of human technology and technology in general. While we use such knowledge for unenlightened purposes like war and spying, it need not be so. This piece was one of two donated to the Albuquerque Carrie Tingley children's hospital that helps children with physical deformities.
