Blue is calm and tranquil. Blue is the color of depression but it is also the color of the sky and sea.

Picasso had a blue period and the little boy blue blew his horn. Blue is the color of some of the most precious topaz and diamonds. The Hope diamond is blue.

Blue is the color that a planet about the size of Earth, with its gasses and proximity to a star we call the sun, emits when light reflects off water molecules. A little bigger, and the sky would be green as can be seen in the green-flash. A little smaller of a floating rock in space, and the sky would be reddish-orange.

Blue is my favorite color for its range and affect. It can show me ways away from disharmony. It is the antithesis of chaos and powerfulness. It is pious and serene to me.

Blue fades to black in the ocean's depths as the light can no longer reach below and penetrate the seemingly infinite molecules of water that, to some god-like being may be only a small number.

Blue is the color of the face of god in the transcendental trip I once took while living off Orleans Ave. in New Orleans in early 2004. It was neon blue love and, though humanoid, it was not human at all. I had to leave everything behind and this makes me a bit blue from time to time. But, it was only stuff and I stayed alive to make a family.

"The Blues" is a term for depression and I'm not sure why but perhaps it's because it is such a toned-down color that it means, for many, the down emotion that comes with feeling blue.

Elvis sang about his blue suede shoes though I'm not sure what these would go with or hold up to though I imagine they were quite comfortable.

Blue Velvet is a disturbing David Lynch flick where Dennis Hopper gets really high on gas and wants his mommy in a really disturbing way.

Blues is a great form of music where the singer gets to list all the things his baby done did to him, like leave and take everything and stomp on the singer's heart and all. Buddhism would preach against such attachments but I doubt there are many blues singer buddhists but I may be mistaken on this as I've never polled any about their religion so much.

Blue is the color of blueberries once they are spread out or stain something white. Blueberries look dark purple to me but I once grew the blue berry in a place called Mid City in a private room in the back off Taft Street and these blueberries were the sweetest of the sweet.

Blue is the traditional color of hyperlinks that take us away from here and link to there but I changed that to a light purplish pink because it stood out better against this black (or here, blue) background.

Black and blue is a way you can order a steak so that it's still mooing and its what happens to damaged human flesh after a beating. I've had my share.

Blue, again, is my favorite color because I like what it does to me with such grace and elegance. It takes me to wonderful places and it lifts my spirit. It is serenity and possibility to my imagination. I imagine there are less blue plants and animals because there is already so much blue in nature.

Blue is the color of calm skies and seas. Blue is perfect. It is not too much or too little on the spectrum. The wavelength hits my eyes just right.
