Burgundy is the color of dark red wine, especially when it comes into contact with white- like the white of a tablecloth where a drop or two has spilled. A deep reddish purple, burgundy is another special color near magenta, that I've chosen to write about herein.

Like a deep or dark magenta, burgundy is an elegent, smooth, and supple color as it reminds one of the juice from ripe dark purple grapes. More peaceful and royal than red and more powerful than purple, burgundy is a color that signifies elegance.
