Orange is the color of pumpkins and fall. It is the color of coming decay with the hint of life still within. It is the color on the Reese's chocolate peanut-butter cup packages. Orange is the color of oranges, a scurvy-reducing product that is a delicate and frost-prone staple of two states I've lived in: Florida and California.
