Yellow is a bright and simple color and most reminds me of sunlight as I grew up and have spent more time than not in places where the sunlight was vivid and intense: Florida, New Orleans, and New Mexico.
Yellow is the color of the desert and the color of the bumble-bee. It is the color of school busses and spring. It's the color of tar-stained old teeth and it's the color that tells us in the west to slow down, be cautious, prepare to stop.
When something has yellowed, it's gotten older. Things left to the elements, like paper, yellow with time and the yellowing can be a tell-tale sign of the age of something.
Yellow cards are cautionary. Yellow birds are usually small and new.
