Dehumanization tends to be the norm in history and those who speak out about it tend to become the victims of dehumanization by governments and violent, unjust regimes from Israel, Britain, America, Russia, China, and myriad other nations on every continent. African nations and Arab nations dehumanize homosexuals as did more modern nations only decades ago.

Men dehumanizing women to remain the dominant sex based on nothing more than prejudice and fundamentalist ignorance from Jews to Muslims to Christians to a thousand religious sects amongst them.

Dehumanization seems to be a common human trait and it is for this reason that I have so much disdain for our race of intolerant and ignorant upright chimps, throwing their feces at those who look, speak, or believe differently rather than attempting to live in cooperation and peace.

It is always the ones willing to be the most dehumanizing and treacherous that rise amongst us to the highest echelons of power in all places. It is the powermongering nihilists among us who make the best politicians who say peace out one side of their mouth while bombing children with levers below their podiums of might and lies.

Disharmony, not harmony, is the human society and the normal human animal. Speaking out about these things and attempting to bring unity scares those who thrive on the spoils of war and hatred and they are marked for extermination- another dehumanization amongst a historical record of violent, tribal, fools who think themselves learned and civilized when in fact they are no more than talking apes.

Dehumanization is the process of objectifying or villifying a particular group of human beings, usually for the purpose of homogenizing the dehumanizers and/or creating an atmosphere where killing the "sub-humans" is acceptable.

Nazis dehumanized Jews and now some Zionist Jews dehumanize Arabs. White supremacists dehumanize all "non-whites" (whatever they think that means). Remember, Italians and the whitest of white people, the Irish, were once considered "not white".

Americans and the west in general, have been taught, through violent propaganda, to dehumanize Muslims and Arabs. The Japanese were taught to dehumanize the Chinese in World War II. In Europe, and all over the world, homogonous cultures dehumanize each other and those from other cultures.

Many in Europe think people of Roma descent are less than human. All racism and sexism and sexual-orientation bashing is dehumanizing and an attempt to frame the self as greater than the different other.

In Arizona, and throughout the United States, we have the dehumanization of Mexican immigrants- be they legal or not. The term "illegal" tends towards dehumanizing people who have sought a better life in America.

To dehumanize is to attempt to make true a lie. To dehumanize is to take away the fact that most people in most places simply want to be left alone and to determine their own destiny. To dehumanize is to equate two things that are not equal. It is to say those people or that person is not like me or like us.

They are not worthy of life because they or that person believes X or looks like Y or is this or that generalization. All human beings deserve the same rights. All humans deserve to be free from opression and have the capacity to live freely.

Whether the dehumanization is being perpetrated against women, men, blacks, whites, asians, latinos, catholics, jews, muslims, atheists, homosexuals, children, or any other group, it is ignorant and wrong.

All dehumanization requires ignorance; ignorance of toleration and compassion, ignorance of the truth. Quite literally, to de-humanize is to remove the humanity from the object of the act. To take away a person's humanity is to attempt to take away what can not, by any means of torture or murder, ever be removed.

One can take a life, but one can never make any person or persons into non-people through any argument or act of violence. Even in death, the dehumanized being was always human.

No humans are better than any others and those that think they are suffer from a mental disease known by any number of names. Those groups or individuals who suffer from this delusion of vanity and narcissicism are the root causes of wars, genocide, and holocausts.

Women are trafficked as nothing more than sex objects. Children are made into slave laborers worldwide and are often forced to work in the most dangerous and toxic environments in third world countries because they are just expendable fodder amongst millions and billions of more waiting to march into the pits, the factories, the gulags.

It is only a matter of time before all humanity is dehumanized and we no longer think ourselves human at all. Technology is and will hasten this process, but unless we make some serious changes to our thinking or nature, the process is all but complete. Nuclear weapons make all of us not human but ash and soot and the land we need to thrive a toxic, radioactive hell in which no one can survive long.

Our air and water is becoming unbreathable and undrinkable as the dehumanizing wealthy corporations rape those who can not afford the benefits of the last remaining clean places. We dump on the poor's shores. We throw our garbage overseas. We take all the fish for money. We hunt the endangered animals for their teeth and horns. What a paraiah and a blemish the human race must be to our alien observers who, I am sure, think us unworthy of joining any enlightened cooperative in space.
