on being suicidal

suicidal

Suicidal beings can be so for any number of reasons depending on the particular culture they hail from.

However, most have reached an emotional bottom such that they see killing themselves as a viable option because of a very low opinon of themselves or of their situation with regards to the level of suffering they are made to endure for some reason or another.

I think there are just reasons to be suicidal and just reasons to commit suicide, such as intense and unending pain and the desire to stop the self from harming others in cases where the suicidal person is, for example, a war-criminal to-be or a serial rapist, murderer, etc.

This page will focus mostly on those who would otherwise improve but see suicide, for some period of time, as a legitimate option because of their mental suffering.

Physical suffering can be a legitimate cause for suicide, as I have stated, and I will largely leave this exposition for the page on unbearable suffering.

Suicidal beings are typically in a state of deep or of the deepest depression that is above a catatonic state. In a catatonic state, suicide would become impossible to either carry out or seriously entertain, because both the mind and the body, it is assumed, are in a shut-down state.

The suicidal mind has lost all hope, at least temporarily, at finding a resolution to the mental pain they are in.

Again, I do not mean to confuse this with cases in which the individual is actually in a situation where there is no hope, save for death, of relief from some form of physical pain that is also causing the mental anguish in question.

Suicide because one's honor has been questioned or removed, suicide because of severe depression that can be relieved, and the like are the type of emotional level of suicidal ideation that I tend to want to focus on herein.

A suicidal depression is a deep or, perhaps, the deepest form of depression that exists save for catatonic emotional states.

Most people who are bipolar, for instance, will have had to have had at least one suicidal depression and one manic-like or hypomanic state in order to properly qualify as bipolar.

Many people are suicidal at some time in their lives and it could be said that to think about suicide is one of the most human focuses there is. However, it is the relatively prolonged, depressive suicidal episode that is the deep emotional state of being suicidal I am attempting to refer to here.

Being suicidal is seeing no light and no tunnel but only the interior of the void.

One is, in a sense, in the void and wants to fully join it.

The void is palpable, present, and clear, whereas any glimpse of light seems so imaginary or distant that going towards it appears utterly futile.

Suicidal depression is beyond depression really, it is the giving up of all hope for something better and an environment that will once again yeild higher emotional states.

It is the disbelief in possibility and the belief in the necessity of the bad state that has become nearly or completely unbearable.
