Without time, there would be no capacity for change and vice versa, there could be no change without time in which to do so.

In other words, time exists only because there is change and memory of that change.

Memory could be in a being's faculties or in the inner state of some part of the world [PoW] that records such past states.

Time, or the perception of it at least, requires memory for one instance to be recorded and compared with a following instance.

A being without any memory whatsoever would not be capable of perceiving time. Inanimate objects, we can only assume, do not perceive the passage of time and all time passes for such entities instantly.

It is difficult to capture the nature of time in words because it is precisely in time that we can observe change.

The relative time it takes for any being to observe change could be astonishingly different and, for a creature that lives a second or ten million years, the passage of that those time spans may be longer, from their perspective, in the case of the being who lives for but a few seconds.

Time is a measure of rate of change, at least as it is understood from a scientific perspective.

Without a conscious observer, all time would occur instantly.

Without anything changeable, there could be no time.

If all that exists in the universe were completely frozen and static, there could be no time.

In physical or empirical time, time changes relative to the observer within proximity to mass.

I find it extremely difficult to analyze or have much to say about time because it appears to be one of the simplest yet least understood aspects of reality.

Thoughts on Time from 2006:
_______________________________

The relationship between being and time is that while being does not require time, time does require being and without time, being would not be capable of awareness (a process that requires change) and without awareness, there could be neither the possibility of freedom nor the enjoyment of possibly determined experiece.

What is necessary then is that time exist in order for being to be worth while for a creator whose best mode of observation is as a part of the creation, the source of which need not have space or time as features itself. Need there be a creator?
